8th Anniversary

Hello all,

If I don't blog today then it'll be almost 1 year without any blogging for me. Yup! It has been that long since I last blogged. Yesterday was my 8th wedding anniversary and it coincides with Symphony's 8th AGM. Went to the AGM in the morning and came back home after the AGM to celebrate with the wife & kids. I still can't believe that's it has been 8 years.

About this time last year, the durian has already started to fruit and I am as usual are very eager to go back to Batu Pahat. This year it'll be a bit different. Usually, every time the durian tree starts to flower my father in-law will call my wife telling her about it. Then he'll call again when it starts fruiting and ask us to come back to enjoy the durian. I can still remember my duty to collect the durian in the parit and to go around looking for durians. This year in April my father in law left us. Al-Fatihah to my father in law, Sulaiman bin Ser and may his soul rest in peace. He was diagnosed with a severe sepsis with ARDS and on the 1st of April 2010 at 12.30pm he left us forever.

I'm going back to Batu Pahat this weekend and we are supposed to have our kenduri arwah on Monday 7th of June. Might leave the kids there for a week just like last year and I'll be all alone. Just look at their picture, how can leave those beautiful faces for a week? Btw, that picture was taken in Kuantan and that was the last time we all saw my father in law, just a few days before his death. Going to Kuantan was actually my father in law's idea. He wanted all his children and grandchildren to gather at Kuantan. There's a wedding that he wanted all of us to go to. Who would have guessed that it was his last request.
God... there's a lot things to write and I just don't know where to start and how to start. I'm supposed to write about my anniversary but I'm blogging bout something else. Need to sharpen my blogging skill. I'll write again my friend and hopefully it wont take me ages to write it.

Durio Zibethinus

Tomorrow I’m going back to Batu Pahat again. Left my wife and kids to enjoy the school holidays there. The initial plan was for them to come back with either my father in-law or my brother in-law. So they can come back anytime they feel like coming back, but I made a promise to my eldest daughter on Tuesday that I’m coming to fetch them. Well, you know what they say, don’t make a promise you can’t keep, especially to children. They remember! I’m not telling them that I’m coming tomorrow, it’ll be a surprise.

It’s durian galore back in Batu Pahat, or at least at my in-law’s house. When I made my trip last Saturday, I wasn’t aware that it is durian season there but as soon as I realize it, I just can’t stop thinking of durians. (Will post some pictures as soon as I download it to my laptop). It a good thing that it is durian season there, At least I got things to do to keep me occupied and” berkhidmat” for my in-laws. My job is to pick up the durian that fell inside the parit. There’s a lot of parit in Batu Pahat, and we are at Parit Simin. (FYI, there’s no cement in the parit.) so I’ll be in charge to go into the parit and retrieve the durians. Then I’ll go around the kebun to look for durians. Its durian day and night for me. Tomorrow and Sunday morning I’m sure it be durian time again, as during my visit last Saturday, it is not “GHAHAT” yet. Hopefully tomorrow and Sunday it’s ghahat time… Got my eyes on this particular durian tree… the flesh… the taste… the smell… ohh… durian orgasm! (Ghahat? Go ask your Negeri Sembilan friends).

Enough of durians, although I’m supposed to do work my mind is floating away to Batu Pahat… and no, it’s not the durians, but I kinda missed the kids. Being “bachelor” for 4 days makes me appreciate having them. Missed the shouting, crying, quarreling and kissing them goodnite. I guess you’ll never know how much you miss your kids until they are not by your side. Alyna, Amna & Arief, wait for ayah ye? I’m coming tomorrow.

Anniversary

It’s Friday again. Everybody’s favorite day and me included. Going to the office today is not so bad, I reached the office about the same time yesterday, even though I woke up a bit late and took the 8.40 komuter. The komuter is not so crowded and the U82 is waiting when I reached Sentral. Going back today would be difficult as the 2 week school holiday starts tomorrow.

I’m taking my family back to Batu Pahat, it has been months since I last meet the in-laws. Although my wife don’t nag about going back to her hometown, but deep inside I know that she wanted to go back… badly. Not that I don’t wanna to go back more frequently, but being the sole provider to my family restrict my spending power. Would love to travel at a regular basis but until the economy stabilize (both mine & the world) traveling at a quarterly basis should be sufficient.

I’ll be celebrating my 7th anniversary this Sunday, and this year it would be in Batu Pahat. I haven’t bought anything yet for our anniversary, actually I ran out of ideas. Up until now I’m still looking for a decent gift to give to my wife. Maybe it’ll be a belated anniversary gift this year. How not romantic of me… whatever!

Hopefully everything goes well this time around and I’ll try not to piss my father in law too much this time. It’ll be a long weekend for me, I’ll be there until Tuesday and there’s a lot of room for mistakes. One thing good is I should be able to facebook there. Blog you guys later then.

FC Barcelona & Symphony's AGM

Dear friends and family,

It seems like ages since my last post, in fact there is no post made by me in 2009. It’s kinda hectic around here and it always seems like there’s no free time to post something in my blog, and even there’s time I always forgot about the blog. Will try not to forget and update my blog.

Today is Symphony’s AGM day, I wanted to go so that I can study the way to Sime Darby convention center. My roommate during my MYPM days is having his wedding there next month, so this was an opportunity to learn the way. Got up early today… semangat AGM, but as usual I got stuck in the stupid jam in Semenyih, then the Komuter take it own sweet time to reach KL Sentral. To add icing to the cake, my not so Rapid KL U82 is late. Not a few minutes late, but 40 minutes late. When I reached the office everyone else has gone to the AGM. So much for the AGM. Hampeh!

Good news for today, Barcelona won the Champion league. OLE! Sorry Man U fans out there but since I have no more team in the English Premier League, I’ll support Barcelona for next season. My team? Oh… the troubled toon army. So sad that they have to be relegated but it is going nowhere with the current management. What they need is 11 Alan Shearer on the field, and then the magpies will be saved. I watched Newcastle play on Sunday and I don’t see the premier league quality in them, even their spirit is Liga Super standard. Got a text from a friend soon after they confirmed that Newcastle got relegated. “Jgn sedih tau!”. That came from a Man U supporter, maybe I should send her the same text for today’s result. Ole Barca!

It must be something they ate at the AGM, coz everyone is so not in the mood today. Too sleepy and tired, well… it’s bloody contagious. Well at least it gives me room to update my blog. The managers are attending training and we, the kuli’s can relax a bit. Hope it wouldn’t take me forever to go back today, it’s so tiring. Time to pack up my stuff… smell u guys later.

Déjà vu….

Dear friends,

So how’s Aidiladha? Biasa2 jer kan? Yup, it’s different as compared to Aidilfitri as we fast during Ramadhan and felt the sacrifices that we made. Aidiladha… unless you have someone in Mekah or performing the Hajj or performing korban at nearby masjid or surau it’s just another holiday. Well at least for me it is just another holiday. Going to and back from Batu Pahat is agonizing, I don’t know why but the jam is horrendous. I came back from Batu Pahat on Monday, so that I’ll get some rest on Tuesday. I took leave on Tuesday as I know I’ll be exhausted from driving and of course the jam.

Déjà vu 1: Landslide that happened in Bukit Antarabangsa. The strange part is not the landslide or how much casualties but the responses from the authority and statements from the ministers. I could’ve sworn that I heard it before. ‘Stop hill slope development’ and ‘kajian akan dibuat terhadap pembangunan di kawasan takungan air’ amongst the statement that’s popular during tragedy like this. A year from now they’ll forget everything and the projects goes on. Now it is the pointing fingers, old MB blames new MB, New MB blames old MB, old admin blames new admin and vice versa. I bet I know what Mr. Samy will say if he’s still the minister. Hehehe….

Déjà vu 2: Accident at Pagoh – Tangkak area involving an express bus which claims 10 lives. The bus is out of control, the bus is speeding and ‘gaji pemandu bas akan dikaji’. Sounds familiar? How many times do they need to review it? How many lives should be sacrificed before they finish reviewing it? They have been reviewing the salary since ages, but I think if they pay the bus driver with Air Asia’s pilot salary the accident will still happen. Last Saturday when I was driving and doing 110Km/h an express bus dengan selamba jer overtake me. I bet the bus is doing 130 or 140, and the best part, there’s a sticker on the back of the bus ‘Lebuhraya 90 Km/h’. Makes me wonder which lebuhraya is it referring to? 5 out 10 of the bus driver are reckless and 8 out 10 goes above their speed limit (I guess the 2 has mechanical problem), they’ll never change. Ahh… ape2 je la.

Déjà vu 3: Malaysia football team losing again. Same old story, just when we put our hope high, they never fail to disappoint us. ‘inilah barisan kita yg ikhlas berjuang, siap sedia berkorban utk ibu pertiwi, sebelum kita berjaya jangan harap kami pulang…’ so I guess they’ll stay in Thailand forever la. Tonight’s prediction, Malaysia 1 – Thailand 3. Another Déjà vu if the coach blames the defeat due to technicality. ‘Defeat is because change of venue’ or ‘Our players ate too much tom yam and have tom yam overdose syndrome’. We have world class facilities, but not world class athletes. Except for Datuk Nicol la… she’s da bomb! And they were thinking of building a multimillion facility in London. Cheh! Ethiopians has much less from us and yet they manage to win gold in the Olympics, that’s fighting for your country’s honor. We have spend millions of ringgit on the so called sukan teras, but still we haven’t achieved anything, I think it is time to change the sukan teras. Maybe merempit should be our sukan teras, no monetary injection pun they still merempit.

That’s some of the Déjà vu I had the past few days, and I realized that we are going nowhere. ‘Pi mai pi mai tang tu.’ Same old story but different faces involved. Whatever had written in the papers stays in the paper. Other than my Déjà vu my holiday was very normal and dull. Going back to Batu Pahat does not relief me from stress but maintained it at a critical level.

Chapter 2

Hi people, we meet again. It has been a while since I last blogged. Let’s see… my last post entitled ‘My blog is blocked’ was on 23 March 2007. So excuse me if my blogging is a bit berkarat here and there.

People are never satisfied of what they have; me included, and people always complaint and try to voice out their dissatisfaction. Me? I love complaining and I love criticizing, not that I’m perfect sangat la, but I’ve been complaining about a lot of things that it became some sort of a hobby to me. Anyway, I won’t be complaining about the group IT for now. J Somehow they granted us with access to a lot of things, which was blocked during 2007 like this Blogspot and Facebook. I don’t know who to thanks but I’m thankful that they are not blocking this site.

For those who are my blog followers back in 2007, let me give some updates about me. (There’s not much post pun dulu, I think about 10 jer). I’m still working in Damansara and still doing internal audit, had an addition to my family, Arief Shazwan in April 2007. Still staying in Kesuma Lakes, Beranang. Where’s Beranang? Google la beb! Penat nak explain. I don’t drive all the way to work; I take the commuter and bus, so I’ll be complaining a lot in this area, bare with me people.

Not exactly sure where to start, it’s been a while, but let me start by wishing you people out there ‘Selamat Hari Raya Aidiladha’. Yup, Raya Haji is just around the corner, I’m going back to Batu Pahat tomorrow. That’s wiffy’s hometown. Parit Simin Semerah, any of u guys from there? Actually wanted to go back tonight coz I bet the traffic tomorrow will be like setan, but working here with the not so rapid Rapidkl and KTM’s commuter service I’ll be too exhausted for a long journey. Tido lagi best. Thought of driving to work today but the landslide at Jalan Semantan yesterday changed my mind. The jam? It’s still bumper to bumper right up to now. Reason? Malaysian… they have to slow down and watch. Very typical of them kan? From my building (Millennium) tak nampak la the landslide, but I can see the slow moving car from here.

So… going back today would be a challenge, shuttle bus to Bangsar would be difficult same goes to my U82 bus. Hopefully I can go back a bit earlier than usual (usual is above 7pm) and hitch a ride with my colleague to Bank Negara. Then I’d only need to worry about the KTM commuter. See u guys later… I hope. Before I go off, here's a picture of me with Erra... hehehe... Nanti citer lain. Adios!
